After a bit of thought i decided to add a bit of operational variety to the layout by adding a small single platform terminus station to the rear of the layout as well as renewing the backscene and boards, to achieve the desired space to fit the station in i added a piece of  1" by 1/2" baton to the rear of the layout then added the new backscene to that, the extra space allowed me to easily fit a platform and low relief arches onto the layout

next up was a test fit of the low relief viaduct which is actually a metcalfe kit cut down

the station was then added using a couple of peco plastic platform kits, the rear wall is made from metcalfe bits, the waiting room structure never made it to the finished layout!! 

a retaining wall was built at the rear of the depot using offcuts from the viaduct kit

once i was happy with it i removed the new structures and backscene in readyness for the i.d backscene's photographic backscene, more of which is on the dedicated page
